Clayface stars Tom Rhys Harries as Matt Hagen, a rising actor who has his face forcibly disfigured by gangsters. Desperate for a cure, he enlists the help of scientist Dr. Caitlyn Corr (Naomi Ackie), who manages to fix his face, but inadvertently grants him superpowers, which he quickly uses to seek vengeance on those who wronged him. The supporting cast also included David Dencik, Joshua James, Rob Brydon, and Eddie Marsan, with Minghella appearing as John Borrelli, a detective who is in a relationship with Caitlyn, leading to tensions with Matt.

In addition to being the third film in the rebooted DC Universe, after Superman and Supergirl, Clayface is also the first R-rated film in the shared universe franchise, with lots of blood and gore being on display. The film also takes place in Batman’s hometown of Gotham City, with plenty of nods and references for DV fans to pick up on. And the reviews so far have been largely positive, so it seems like Clayface is a film which horror and DC fans cannot afford to miss.

Clayface is in cinemas from 23rd October 2026
