Even More ‘Scary Movie’ Posters and Featurette Revealed
Ghostface is back in the firing line as Paramount Pictures launches a fresh wave of promotional material for Scary Movie, including eight new parody posters, a behind-the-scenes featurette and advance ticket sales ahead of the film’s cinema release on 5 June.

The latest entry in the long-running spoof franchise reunites original stars Anna Faris, Regina Hall, Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans more than two decades after the first film helped redefine mainstream horror comedy. Directed by Michael Tiddes, the sixth instalment promises to take aim at everything from elevated horror and legacy sequels to prestige genre cinema and modern franchise culture.
Promotional artwork released this week spoofs a wide selection of recent horror hits and genre-adjacent films, including Get Out, Smile, Nope, Ma, The Substance, Weapons, Sinners and Backrooms. The campaign reflects the sequel’s broader approach, which appears focused on contemporary horror trends that have dominated cinemas over the last decade.

According to the official synopsis, the returning “Core Four” once again find themselves pursued by a suspiciously familiar masked killer while navigating a world where “no horror movie IP is safe”. The studio describes the film as targeting reboots, remakes, spin-offs, requels and supposedly final chapters that rarely stay final for long.
A newly released featurette titled The Wayans Family also places attention on the franchise’s creative roots. Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Kim Wayans, Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans and Craig Wayans discuss collaborating across generations of the family as the series returns to cinemas for the first time since 2013’s Scary Movie 5.

The project marks a significant reunion behind the camera as well. Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans and Keenen Ivory Wayans all receive writing and producing credits, reconnecting the franchise with the creative team responsible for the original 2000 film and its 2001 sequel. The screenplay is credited to Marlon, Shawn and Keenen Ivory Wayans alongside Craig Wayans and Rick Alvarez.
Alongside returning cast members, the film also introduces new additions including Heidi Gardner, Sydney Park, Olivia Rose Keegan and Savannah Lee Nassif. Familiar franchise faces Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro and Cheri Oteri also return.
The original Scary Movie became a major commercial success upon release in 2000, parodying the post-Scream horror boom while launching a franchise that would eventually gross hundreds of millions worldwide. The new sequel arrives at a moment when horror itself has once again become one of Hollywood’s most commercially dominant genres, giving the series a fresh crop of targets.
Scary Movie opens exclusively in cinemas on 5 June.
