Storm King Comics Takes the Stage at LA Times Festival of Books
Storm King Comics is set to make its first appearance as an exhibitor at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books later this month, marking a notable expansion of the horror-focused imprint’s presence within the literary event space.

The company, a division of Storm King Productions led by producer and editor Sandy King, will host readers across 18 and 19 April at Booth #860 in the event’s Green Zone. The appearance places the publisher alongside a wide range of exhibitors at one of the largest book festivals in the United States, held annually on the University of Southern California campus.
Storm King Comics will present a selection of titles spanning its established lines, including Dark & Twisted, Tales of Science Fiction, Night Terrors and its younger-skewing Storm Kids imprint. Among the featured releases is Pause, a new April 2026 title by Matthew K. Manning and Conor Boyle, alongside Duane Swierczynski’s Dead Flowers and Redhead. Also available are Death Mask Vol 1 and Death Mask Vol 2 Ichor Azure, created by Amanda Deibert and Cat Staggs.

A central focus of the publisher’s presence will be John Carpenter’s Tales for a HalloweeNight Vol 11, which includes the first chapter of Cathedral, described as John Carpenter’s first original graphic novel. The full release of Cathedral is scheduled for August 2026, with this early preview forming part of the festival offering.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to attend signing sessions with contributing creators. Amanda Deibert and Cat Staggs are scheduled to appear on Saturday, while Duane Swierczynski will sign copies of his work on Sunday.
Storm King Comics was established in 2012 and has since developed a catalogue that blends horror and science fiction storytelling across multiple formats. Its output includes the long-running John Carpenter’s Tales for a HalloweeNight anthology, which has received industry recognition including a Bram Stoker Award nomination, as well as John Carpenter’s Tales of Science Fiction and Asylum.

The company operates as part of a broader media network under Storm King Productions, which has expanded into film, television and audio projects in recent years. Its move into the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books reflects a continued effort to position its publishing arm within mainstream literary events while maintaining a focus on genre material.
