GrimmVision Brings Indie Horror to a Global Audience

A new era for independent genre cinema has begun with the announcement of GrimmVision, a bold film publishing venture born from a partnership between Manchester’s internationally recognised horror festival Grimmfest and the distribution experts at Trinity Content Partners. The deal, revealed ahead of Grimmfest 2025, marks a major step forward in how horror and fantasy filmmakers can reach audiences worldwide.

Set to operate as a specialist film publishing brand, GrimmVision promises to give independent creators direct access to every major distribution platform, spanning physical media, digital, television, and streaming. For many filmmakers navigating the increasingly complex media landscape, the initiative represents a direct route to visibility, complete with marketing and PR support, without the heavy costs and lengthy delays associated with traditional distribution channels.

Two films that premiered at Grimmfest 2024 will launch the label’s debut slate this November: Tim Travers and the Time Traveler’s Paradox and M: Beyond the Wasteland. Both titles exemplify Grimmfest’s reputation for platforming ambitious, genre-defying work that pushes the limits of independent filmmaking.

Tim Travers and The Time Traveler’s Paradox

Tim Travers and the Time Traveler’s Paradox is a darkly comic, reality-bending sci-fi film following an egotistical scientist who builds a time machine and kills his younger self to test the consequences. Starring Samuel Dunning, Joel McHale, Keith David and Danny Trejo, it mixes black humour with existential chaos in a way that feels perfectly aligned with the Grimmfest ethos.

By contrast, M: Beyond the Wasteland comes from Macedonian director Vardan Tozija and delivers a harrowing post-apocalyptic fable about a young boy’s search for hope in a world ravaged by plague and violence. It’s a haunting and human vision of survival that earned the festival’s Best Feature award last year.

Speaking on the new partnership, Grimmfest director Simeon Halligan said the collaboration was “the next step in the evolution of Grimmfest,” highlighting how GrimmVision will allow the festival’s identity and curatorial taste to reach global audiences through direct releases. For Trinity Content Partners, whose CEO Adam Lacey described the venture as “a game changer for filmmakers,” the alliance bridges the gap between creative ambition and commercial opportunity.

The move also reflects the growing importance of boutique genre brands in shaping modern film distribution. As mainstream streaming platforms become increasingly saturated, partnerships like GrimmVision offer a curated, community-driven alternative—one that prioritises discovery and integrity over algorithmic churn.

With its inaugural titles launching globally on 10 November 2025 and more acquisitions to follow, GrimmVision looks set to redefine how fans experience the kinds of bold, imaginative cinema that has long defined Grimmfest’s legacy.

Grimmfest 2025 runs from 9–12 October at the Odeon Great Northern in Manchester, featuring premieres from around the world.
