‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ Drops New Trailer and Poster
Universal Pictures has unveiled a new full trailer and poster for Jurassic World Rebirth, the next instalment in the long-running dinosaur saga. Directed by Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp, the film introduces a new set of characters and locations while maintaining continuity with the franchise’s established world. Set for release on 2 July 2025 in UK and Irish cinemas, the film marks a shift in both tone and premise, moving away from global-scale chaos to a more focused, high-stakes expedition.

Scarlett Johansson leads the cast as Zora Bennett, a covert operations specialist sent to extract valuable genetic material from an equatorial island, where remnants of Jurassic Park’s legacy have been left to evolve in isolation. Joining her are Mahershala Ali as team member Duncan Kincaid and Jonathan Bailey as Dr Henry Loomis, a paleontologist with a vested interest in the mission. The trailer reveals their operation becomes entangled with the unexpected arrival of a civilian family, whose boat trip ends in disaster after an encounter with aquatic dinosaurs.
The location in question is a previously undisclosed site used for research connected to the original Jurassic Park, now overrun with surviving dinosaurs. The film’s central premise involves a race to recover DNA from the three largest species – on land, in water and in the air – which is said to contain the basis for a new, potentially life-saving drug. The implications of such a breakthrough, however, appear to be complicated by the presence of corporate interests, represented in the film by Rupert Friend’s character Martin Krebs.

The trailer avoids revealing too much about the antagonist forces at play, though the tone suggests a mixture of science fiction and survival horror, with emphasis on confinement, mistrust, and an uncertain chain of command. Director Gareth Edwards, known for Rogue One and Monsters, brings a grounded visual style and an emphasis on scale, which is evident in the early footage.
Produced by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Denis L. Stewart and Jim Spencer, the film takes place five years after Jurassic World Dominion. In this version of the world, dinosaurs no longer roam freely but survive in extreme climates similar to their original environment. The decision to centre the action on one isolated location appears to mark a conscious reset for the franchise, following a trilogy where global impact had become increasingly central.

The cast also includes Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Reuben Delgado, the father of the stranded family, alongside Luna Blaise, David Iacono and Audrina Miranda. Additional appearances come from Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain and Ed Skrein, playing roles within both the extraction and corporate crews.
While Jurassic World Rebirth retains the title branding of its recent predecessors, the creative team and premise suggest a partial reinvention. With Koepp returning as screenwriter, having penned the original Jurassic Park adaptation in 1993, and Edwards taking the helm for the first time, the project appears aimed at re-establishing a tighter, more suspense-driven approach within the existing world.
Jurassic World Rebirth is scheduled for theatrical release on 2 July 2025. See the trailer below.
