First Look: ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’
Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth, marking the next chapter in the long-running franchise. Directed by Gareth Edwards and featuring a screenplay by Jurassic Park scribe David Koepp, the film is set to take audiences into uncharted territory when it arrives in cinemas across the UK and Ireland on 2nd July 2025.

The trailer teases a high-stakes action thriller where the remnants of Jurassic Park’s past collide with a desperate race for scientific discovery. Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, dinosaurs remain in isolated equatorial zones, their numbers dwindling due to inhospitable global conditions. At the centre of the story is an elite extraction team led by Zora Bennett, played by Scarlett Johansson, who is tasked with recovering genetic material from the three largest dinosaur species still in existence. Their DNA reportedly holds the key to revolutionary medical advancements—but recovering it will be anything but straightforward.
Mahershala Ali stars as Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s closest ally on the mission, while Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey takes on the role of paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis. The operation, however, becomes a battle for survival when Zora’s team crosses paths with a civilian family stranded on a long-forgotten island—one that was once home to a secret Jurassic Park research facility. The trailer hints at shocking discoveries lurking in the abandoned facility, suggesting that the dinosaurs may not be the deadliest force on the island.

The film introduces a new slate of characters, including Rupert Friend as Big Pharma representative Martin Krebs and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Reuben Delgado, the father of the shipwrecked family. Luna Blaise, David Iacono, and Audrina Miranda play members of Delgado’s family, while Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein round out the supporting cast.
Jurassic World Rebirth is produced by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, key figures in the franchise since its revival in 2015. Executive producing is none other than Steven Spielberg, alongside Denis L. Stewart and Jim Spencer. The trailer showcases Edwards’ signature visual style, known for his work on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Godzilla, blending large-scale spectacle with immersive realism.

The Jurassic franchise has remained a box office powerhouse since Jurassic Park revolutionised blockbuster cinema in 1993. Each instalment in the Jurassic World trilogy surpassed $1 billion globally, with Jurassic World Dominion concluding the saga in 2022. With Rebirth, the franchise looks to push in a bold new direction, shifting away from the world-in-chaos premise of Dominion and returning to a more contained, high-intensity survival thriller format.
Fans can expect more teasers in the coming months, but for now, the first look at Jurassic World Rebirth promises a return to the franchise’s core themes of science, survival, and the terrifying unpredictability of big, snapping dinosaurs.
