‘Gator Creek’ Brings Alligator Mayhem
A terrifying new creature feature is set to make its mark as Gator Creek prepares for release in the UK and Ireland on March 24. A project from the producers behind Fall and 47 Meters Down, this horror-thriller brings together the brutal survival instincts of classic alligator horrors with a modern twist—these beasts have evolved beyond anything nature ever intended.

Directed by Taneli Mustonen and Brad Watson, Gator Creek follows a group of young vacationers whose trip to Louisiana turns into a nightmare after a devastating plane crash leaves them stranded in the remote bayou. What begins as a desperate bid for survival against the elements quickly spirals into something far worse when the group discovers they are not alone. A pack of monstrously evolved alligators, altered by exposure to illegal toxic chemicals, has claimed the swamp as their hunting ground. Faster, smarter, and far more aggressive than their natural ancestors, these creatures are apex predators in every sense of the term—unrelenting in their pursuit of prey.

With a cast led by Athena Strates, Isabelle Bonfrer, Elisha Applebaum, Madalena Aragão, and Tayla Kovacevic-Ebong, the film leans into the tension of classic survival horror while delivering edge-of-your-seat thrills. Writers Gavin Mehrtens and Ashley Holberry have crafted a story that capitalises on both the raw power of nature and the dangers of human interference, a theme that feels disturbingly relevant in today’s world.
Produced by Tea Shop Productions, the studio known for pulse-pounding survival horror, Gator Creek also benefits from the expertise of UK-based visual effects specialists Koala FX, who previously worked on Jeepers Creepers: Reborn and Fall. Their creature work brings the film’s terrifying predators to life with an intensity that ensures audiences won’t look at alligators the same way again.

Vertigo Releasing will distribute the film across digital platforms in the UK and Ireland, adding another high-intensity genre title to its expanding catalogue. Known for championing independent horror and thrillers, Vertigo’s recent successes include Late Night with the Devil, Boiling Point, and How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies. With Gator Creek, the distributor is once again proving its commitment to delivering high-quality, adrenaline-fuelled experiences for audiences hungry for fresh horror.
