Halloween Comes Early Thanks to Storm King Comics
Storm King Comics is set to bring Halloween chills earlier than usual with the release of two new graphic novels, just in time for the spooky season. This September, horror enthusiasts can dive into John Carpenter’s Tales for a HalloweeNight Vol. 10 and Tales for a HalloweeNight: Brooklyn Stories: A Frank Tieri and Cat Staggs Collection. Both volumes promise a blend of dark, twisted tales that have become synonymous with the Carpenter name.
John Carpenter’s Tales for a HalloweeNight Vol. 10 marks a significant milestone, celebrating the 10th anniversary of this beloved anthology series. This edition features an original story by Carpenter himself titled “SOS,” alongside 12 other terrifying tales from some of the most creative minds in comics today. With more than 30 writers, artists, and colorists contributing, this collection offers a diverse and haunting experience for horror fans.
Joining this chilling celebration is Brooklyn Stories, a compilation of gritty and disturbing tales set against the eerie backdrop of Brooklyn. Penned by comics legend Frank Tieri and brought to life by illustrator Cat Staggs, this collection dives deep into urban legends and supernatural horrors that haunt the streets of New York. From the 1977 blackout to the Coney Island fire of 1911, Tieri and Staggs explore the terrifying truths behind these historical events, all under the banner of John Carpenter’s Tales for a HalloweeNight.
Sandy King, founder and editor of Storm King Comics, highlights the unique appeal of these collections: “There’s no name more synonymous with Halloween than John Carpenter. These graphic novels capture the essence of fear and suspense that Carpenter has masterfully crafted over his career. Between these two books, every fan of horror will find something to disturb and delight them.”

Both Tales for a HalloweeNight Vol. 10 and Brooklyn Stories will be available in comic shops and from Storm King Comics starting September 25, with a wider release on October 8 through major retailers such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Books-A-Million. Digital copies can also be purchased from Global Comix, ensuring that fans can experience these terrifying tales no matter where they are.
This year has been a monumental one for Storm King Comics, with the launch of a new imprint, “Dark & Twisted,” and the release of critically acclaimed titles like Long Haul and The Killing Hole. The publisher has also successfully concluded the two-volume Fetch series under the “John Carpenter Presents Storm Kids” imprint, further solidifying its place as a leader in the world of horror comics.
