World Premiere of ‘The Dæmon’ at Pigeon Shrine FrightFest

The Dæmon 2024

Co-directors Matt Devino and David Michael Yohe are thrilled to announce the world premiere of their darkly twisted film The Dæmon at the renowned Pigeon Shrine FrightFest 2024. This Lovecraftian cosmic thriller is set to make its debut on Friday, 23rd August, captivating audiences with its haunting narrative and profound exploration of human and supernatural horrors.

The Dæmon is a slow-burn thriller that delves deep into the complexities of familial trauma, only to uncover demons far more sinister than personal grief. The film follows Tom, a man haunted by the aftermath of his father’s suicide. In a desperate bid for solace, Tom retreats to the lakeside cottage where his father ended his life. However, what was meant to be a refuge soon becomes a gateway to madness, as Tom’s childhood memories resurface, intertwined with an ancient, malevolent force lurking beneath the lake.

Tom’s descent into silence and isolation drives his wife, Kathy, to take drastic measures. Determined to save her husband, she enlists the help of her brother Mark, a struggling entrepreneur, and Mark’s wife Jess, a trauma and grief counsellor. As they delve deeper into Tom’s fractured psyche, they are oblivious to the insidious evil emanating from the lake, an evil that claimed Tom’s parents and now threatens to consume anyone who ventures too close.

Co-directors Devino and Yohe expressed their excitement and passion for the project ahead of its premiere. “THE DÆMON is a reflection of our own fears, an exploration of the profound connection between past and present, and the acknowledgment that in the face of cosmic forces hope may not be enough to save us. We believe that the film will resonate with viewers on a visceral level, drawing them into a world where the line between reality and the supernatural is blurred, and where the strength of the human spirit is put to the ultimate test.”

The premiere screening of The Dæmon is scheduled for Friday, 23rd August 2024, at 11:30 AM BST at London’s iconic Cinema São Jorge. The film promises to deliver a chilling experience, blending the psychological torment of its characters with the eerie, otherworldly horror that Lovecraftian fans crave.

The Dæmon‘s world premiere at FrightFest marks a significant milestone for Devino and Yohe, both of whom have poured their fears and artistic vision into this film. The festival, known for showcasing cutting-edge horror cinema, provides the perfect platform for this cosmic thriller to captivate and terrify audiences.

With its blend of psychological depth and cosmic horror, The Dæmon is set to bring a nice malevolent twist to this year’s FrightFest.
