With just two months to go, anticipation is building for Midsummer Scream, the world’s largest Halloween and horror convention, set to take place from July 26 to July 28 at the Long Beach Convention Center. This year’s event promises to be the most thrilling yet, packed with an array of panels, presentations, and performances that will set the tone for the spooky season.

Midsummer Scream App Launched

To help attendees navigate the extensive three-day event, Midsummer Scream has unveiled its official app, available for free on both Apple and Android devices. The app is designed to assist guests in planning their schedule, ensuring they don’t miss any of the nearly 100 hours of content, over 300 vendors, and numerous haunted attractions.

David Markland, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Midsummer Scream, emphasized the importance of the app: “We highly encourage downloading and using the app to help organize a single day or a whole weekend’s visit to Midsummer Scream.”

Highlight Presentations and Panels

The convention will feature in-depth presentations from some of the most popular Halloween events on the West Coast, including:

Saturday, July 27:

  • Castle Dark at Castle Park, Riverside
  • The Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor
  • Six Flags Magic Mountain’s Fright Fest

Sunday, July 28:

  • Knott’s Scary Farm at Knott’s Berry Farm
  • The Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group, covering LA Haunted Hayride, Delusion, and the Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns
  • Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights
  • Winchester Mystery House

Special Guests and Performances

Attendees can look forward to panels and talks featuring Cassandra Peterson (Elvira, Mistress of the Dark), a reunion of the cast from Universal Studios’ Beetlejuice Revue, and a live performance by composer Alan Howarth. There will also be a panel with Hispanic horror filmmakers, adding to the diverse lineup.

The celebrity guest list includes Roger L. Jackson (the voice of Scream’s Ghost Face), John Kassir (Tales from the Crypt), the Boulet Brothers (Dragula), and Victoria Price, daughter of horror legend Vincent Price. Fans can also expect appearances from cast members of M3GAN and The Black Phone.

Hall of Shadows and More Attractions

Midsummer Scream’s renowned Hall of Shadows will return, offering a massive dark zone filled with haunted attractions created by professional and home haunters. Additional elements and surprises for the Hall of Shadows will be announced soon.

Other attractions include the “Pumpkin Patch” scare-free kids’ zone, the Black Cat Lounge with kitten adoptions, and the Screaming Room Film Festival presented by HorrorBuzz. With 350 vendors on site, there will be plenty of spooky merchandise to explore.

Tickets and Passes

General admission passes and a limited number of VIP “Gold Bat” passes are available now at www.MidsummerScream.com. Children under 10 can attend for free with an accompanying adult.
