‘Trim Season’ Hits Theaters and On-Demand This June

This summer, Blue Harbor Entertainment is set to release Trim Season, a gripping thriller that delves into the dark underbelly of Northern California’s marijuana farms. Directed by the award-winning Ariel Vida, known for her work on Vide Noir, the film combines suspense with a poignant exploration of youth and desperation. It premieres in theaters and on-demand platforms on June 7, 2024.
The story follows Emma, played by Bethlehem Million of Sick and And Just Like That…, a jobless 20-something from Los Angeles searching for meaning and direction in her life. In an attempt to make quick cash, Emma joins a group of young people heading to a remote marijuana farm to work as trimmers. The farm, hidden deep within the dense Northern California forests, is run by Mona, portrayed by Jane Badler of V and Ricky Stanicky fame. Mona’s warm exterior slowly unravels to reveal chilling secrets that none of the newcomers could have anticipated.
As the idyllic scenery turns sinister, Emma and her friends find themselves in a harrowing fight for survival, racing against time to escape the clutches of their once-welcoming host. The ensemble cast includes notable actors such as Bex Taylor-Klaus (Scream), Alex Essoe (Midnight Mass), Ally Ioannides (Synchronic), and Cory Hart (Fear the Walking Dead), each bringing depth to this intense thriller.

Trim Season is a collaborative effort, with the screenplay penned by David Blair, Sean E. DeMott, Cullen Poythress, Megan Sutherland, and Ariel Vida. It is produced by Aaron B. Koontz, Sean E. DeMott, Paul Holbrook, and Jane Badler, with executive producers Leal Naim and Jake Hearns ensuring the film’s vision came to fruition.
Critics anticipate Trim Season will resonate with audiences, especially those intrigued by the dynamics of isolated communities and the stark realities hidden within rural America. The film not only promises to be a thrilling ride but also a reflection on the extremities of human behavior when pushed to the limits.
Trim Season runs for a tight 100 minutes, packing tension and psychological drama into a story that offers more than just the typical thriller fare. As the release date approaches, moviegoers are encouraged to prepare for a film that offers a compelling blend of real-world issues and edge-of-your-seat suspense.
