Maxxxine: Ti West Unveils Trailer and Release Date
Ti West, the visionary director behind the celebrated ‘X’ trilogy, has just released the trailer for the eagerly anticipated final installment, Maxxxine. Featuring an ensemble cast led by Mia Goth, Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, Lily Collins, with Giancarlo Esposito, and Kevin Bacon, the film promises a thrilling conclusion to the saga that has captivated horror fans across the globe.
Set against the backdrop of 1980s Hollywood, Maxxxine follows the journey of adult film star Maxine Minx (Mia Goth), who after surviving a gruesome massacre, ventures into Los Angeles to pursue her dream of becoming a famous actress. However, her aspirations quickly turn into a nightmare as she finds herself the target of a mysterious killer preying on Hollywood’s starlets.
With its gripping narrative and a star-studded cast, Maxxxine delves into themes of ambition, fame, and the darker side of the entertainment industry. Mia Goth reprises her role as Maxine, delivering a performance that bridges her character’s past and present in a quest for recognition and survival. Elizabeth Debicki steps into the role of a film director, while Michelle Monaghan and Bobby Cannavale portray LAPD detectives embroiled in the hunt for the elusive killer. Giancarlo Esposito plays an influential agent in the adult film industry, and Kevin Bacon adds to the intrigue as a private investigator.
Director Ti West, who also penned the screenplay, has skillfully crafted a narrative that pays homage to the horror genre while providing a fresh and contemporary take on the slasher film. The inclusion of the 1983 synth-pop hit ‘Obsession’ by Animotion in the trailer sets the tone for a film that is as much a love letter to the ’80s as it is a chilling horror thriller.
