The creators of the recent slasher release “Scream 6” have revealed some exciting details about their next project, which they describe as “akin to The Invisible Man” and “Renfield“.

In an interview with IGN, Radio Silence directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett shared their plans for their next horror film project with Universal Pictures. Bettinelli-Olpin said, “It’s a completely different world than Scream, but it is also definitely a horror movie.”

The directors were tight-lipped about the plot details, but did reveal that the film will be “akin to The Invisible Man” and “Renfield”, two other recent horror films produced by Universal. Bettinelli-Olpin added, “We’re excited to see if we can do something similar to those movies.”

The Invisible Man, released in 2020, was a critical and commercial success. The film, directed by Leigh Whannell, starred Elisabeth Moss as a woman who is stalked by her abusive ex-boyfriend who has figured out a way to make himself invisible. Renfield, which is currently in production, is a horror film centered around the character R.M. Renfield from Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Renfield

A decade ago, Universal attempted to create an interconnected ‘Dark Universe’ based on classic Universal monsters (Frankenstein, Dracula, Wolfman, the Mummy, the Invisible Man etc) with titles like The Mummy and Dracula Untold. But after an underwhelming response, the studio has abandonded those plans.

Fans of Radio Silence’s work on Scream 6 will no doubt be eagerly anticipating their next project. The directors have proven themselves to be adept at balancing scares with humor, and have demonstrated a talent for creating memorable characters.

While we may not know much about the plot or characters of their upcoming horror film, it’s safe to say that Radio Silence’s unique style and approach to horror will make for an interesting and exciting experience.

We’ll be eagerly awaiting more details about Radio Silence’s next horror film project.
