Hooked Up Shot on iPhone

Call it an inventive new medium, call it a marketing ploy, either way it was only a matter of time until someone produced a full length horror film shot on a mobile phone.

Hooked Up is directed by hooked up iphonePablo Larcuen (Orphan, Non-Stop) and is unsurprisingly shot as found footage, which makes carrying off the whole mobile thing a lot easier.

The film follows Tonio (Jonah Ehrenreich) and Peter (Stephen Ohl), two young Americans who travel to Barcelona to party and meet women. During their fun filled trip they befriend the flirtatious Noemi and Katia who they escort them back to a house where things take an unexpected turn. Soon, the boys find themselves trapped and it becomes apparent that the girls don’t want to let them go – alive.

The story isn’t exactly innovative, but curiosity about whether the format really does perform well enough makes this Gremlin intrigued enough to want to take a look.

Hooked up is out on DVD from April 27th 2015, courtesy of Signature Entertainment.
