The Woman in Black biggest grossing film of 2012

The Woman in BlackWho would have thought a horror film could do so well?
It seems that The Woman in Black has proven there is money in horror by becoming the top money maker of 2012 so far.

Taking a further £1.13million in its 5th weekend of release, The Woman in Black, which is already the biggest British Horror film since records began, is now the highest grossing film of 2012 at the UK box office.

This result brings the total Box Office for The Woman in Black to £19.49million, passing the previous titleholder Stephen Spielberg’s WARHORSE, which stands at £18.42million.  It also marks the second highest gross ever for distributor Momentum Pictures.

The Woman in Black, starring Daniel Radcliffe in his first lead role since the HARRY POTTER series, is directed by James Watkins and adapted by Jane Goldman from the classic novel by Susan Hill.
