As if the films at this year’s Grimm Up North weren’t attraction enough by themselves, we will be giving away monstrous merchandise and spooky swag at every single screening. All audience members need do is buy a ticket for that particular film, and drop their name into the competition box on entry. Winners will be announced and receive their prize at the end of each screening. Festival Pass holders will be automatically eligible for each competition but must attend the screening to be in with a chance of winning. THE GALACTIC KNIGHTS TAKE OVER Talking of role-playing and immersive environments, Grimm Up North is pleased to be joined again this year by those sinister costumed characters, the Galactic Knights who will be appearing in a variety of monstrous and malevolent guises during the festival weekend. As if the festival wasn’t unnerving enough already, you might suddenly find yourself standing in a queue next to Chucky, or tapped on the shoulder by Freddie Krueger. And we can’t guarantee it won’t be the real thing. ZOMBIE AID AT GRIMM UP NORTH This year’s Manchester Zombie walk has sadly had to be postponed - so if you see hordes of perambulating corpses heading towards the screening venue during the festival then it means the Zombie Apocalypse is here at last, and you should RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! However, our good friends from Zombie Aid will be joining us for Grimm Up North, and will have an array of fearsomely fashionable and faintly disturbing t-shirts for sale. Fans of rotting flesh will be able to show their support for the cause and find out more from Zombie Aid organiser Carl Whiteley. FESTIVAL MARKET Between screenings, why not take a look at our Festival Market? There’ll be t-shirts galore, posters and movie memorabilia and our old friends from Travelling Man will be joining us once again with an outstanding array of comics, graphic novels, gaming books and other cool stuff. NAMCO BANDAI PREVIEW DARK SOULS AT GRIMM UP NORTH Grimm Up North is pleased to announce that Namco Bandai will again be supporting this year’s festival with an exclusive preview of the eagerly-awaited DARK SOULS. Grimmlins will have an opportunity to lose themselves for a while in a dark, dense, violent universe, to explore dangerous environments, and face terrifying threats from monstrous enemies... And then, when they want to take a break from the festival, they can book some time on one of Namco’s special gaming pods, and let off some steam with those DARK SOULS. The film will be going on sale the weekend of the festival, but for those wishing to try before they buy, this is a perfect opportunity to do so. Namco promise “tense dungeon crawling, fearsome enemy encounters and groundbreaking online features”, a truly involving, utterly immersive fantasy world that takes Role Playing Games to the next level.
