‘Cujo’ and ‘The Monster Squad’ Join Arrow Video’s October Horrors

Ghostly con artists, rabid dogs, vampire hunters and video-store vigilantes are lining up for Arrow Video’s October slate, with seven new UK releases spanning horror, fantasy, science fiction and action. The month brings Peter Jackson’s The Frighteners to 4K UHD, a restored edition of The Last Boy Scout and a fresh collection of direct-to-video revenge films, while Stephen King, classic monsters and Chinese fantasy also receive major physical-media treatment.

Peter Jackson’s The Frighteners arrives on 26 October in 4K UHD and Blu-ray editions. Michael J. Fox stars as Frank Bannister, a psychic who uses his ghostly associates to stage hauntings before charging locals to remove them. His scheme is interrupted when a series of deaths points towards a far more dangerous supernatural force. Produced by Robert Zemeckis, the release includes both the theatrical version and director’s cut, alongside an extensive collection of supplementary material.

Earlier in the month, Fred Dekker’s The Monster Squad lands on 12 October in 4K UHD and Blu-ray. The film follows a group of young horror obsessives who must stop Dracula and a collection of familiar monsters from taking control. The two-disc edition includes Wolfman’s Got Nards, the feature-length documentary co-written and directed by cast member Andre Gower, plus further archive and newly assembled extras.

Stephen King adaptation Cujo also arrives on 12 October, making its way to 4K UHD with both the theatrical cut and an international version included as a limited-edition exclusive. Dee Wallace stars as Donna Trenton, who becomes trapped in a broken-down car with her son while a rabies-infected St Bernard waits outside.

Hong Kong fantasy receives a substantial box-set release on 26 October with A Chinese Ghost Story Trilogy. The collection brings together A Chinese Ghost Story and its two sequels, accompanied by new and archival bonus features across 4K UHD and Blu-ray formats.

Arrow’s direct-to-video collection continues with Enter the Video Store Video Vengeance, due on Blu-ray on 26 October. The five-film set includes Ministry of Vengeance, The Final Alliance, R.O.T.O.R., Hangfire and Joshua Tree, bringing together stars including Dolph Lundgren, Yaphet Kotto, John Saxon, Ken Foree and David Hasselhoff. It is a strange group on paper, admittedly, but that is very much the appeal.

Tony Scott’s The Last Boy Scout arrives on 12 October in 4K UHD and Blu-ray, presented from a new restoration of the original 35mm camera negative. Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans lead the action thriller, which was written by Shane Black and produced by Joel Silver.

Completing the month is Futureworld, the 1976 follow-up to Westworld, released on 19 October in 4K UHD and Blu-ray. Peter Fonda and Blythe Danner star as reporters investigating the reopened Delos resort, where a larger conspiracy sits beneath the promise of technologically controlled leisure.

Arrow Video’s October 2026 releases begin with The Monster Squad, Cujo and The Last Boy Scout on 12 October, followed by Futureworld on 19 October and The Frighteners, A Chinese Ghost Story Trilogy and Enter the Video Store Video Vengeance on 26 October.
