An underground cave system becomes the setting for a desperate fight to survive in the first trailer for The Devil’s Mouth, the upcoming survival horror film from director Jeff Wadlow, which will launch globally on Prime Video on 29 July. Alongside the trailer, the first teaser poster and a collection of new stills have also been released, offering an early look at the thriller led by Kathryn Newton and Lana Condor.

Set against the dramatic coastline of Thailand, The Devil’s Mouth follows five recent college graduates who embark on one final adventure before their lives take separate paths. What begins as a guided swim through a remote cave network quickly descends into chaos after the group discovers the flooded passages conceal a deadly predator that survived where everything else perished.

As they become trapped within the labyrinth of narrow waterways, fear begins to fracture long-standing friendships, forcing each member of the group to confront impossible choices while searching for a route back to the surface.

Jeff Wadlow directs from a screenplay by Aja Gabel and Myung Joh Wesner. The project began life under the title Apex, which appeared on the 2019 Hollywood Black List of the industry’s most-liked unproduced screenplays before being redeveloped into The Devil’s Mouth.

The film brings together a cast headed by Kathryn Newton, whose recent genre credits include Abigail and Lisa Frankenstein, alongside Lana Condor, Nico Hiraga, Gavin Casalegno, Tommi Rose and Tayme Thapthimthong.

For Wadlow, the release continues a run of studio horror projects that includes Truth or Dare, Fantasy Island and Imaginary, while producers Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee reunite under the Thunder Road banner for the production, alongside Wadlow himself.

Principal photography took place across Krabi province, Chiang Mai and Bangkok over an eight-week shoot, using Thailand’s coastal landscapes and cave systems to create the film’s isolated setting. The score has been composed by Bear McCreary, whose work across film and television has made him a familiar name to genre audiences.

Described as blending suspense, underwater survival and character-driven drama, The Devil’s Mouth places its cast inside increasingly confined surroundings where every flooded passage offers another threat and escape becomes progressively more difficult.

The Devil’s Mouth will be available to stream worldwide on Prime Video from 29 July 2026. The newly released trailer, teaser poster and first-look images are available now.
