Horror Favourites – Wayne Gonsalves

An ode to the wicked work of John Waters, Death Drop Gorgeous has exploded onto digital and we grabbed one of its stars to talk horror.

A festival favourite at Seattle Queer, Chicago Horror, Wicked Queer, VideoScream and over 20 more festivals worldwide Death Drop Gorgeous features divine work by directors Michael J. Ahern, Christopher Dalpe, Brandon Perras-Sanchez, and a superlative cast headed by Wayne Gonsalves, Payton St. James, Brandon Perras-Sanchez, and Christopher Dalpe.

A dejected bartender and an aging drag queen fight to survive the eccentric and hostile nightlife of a corrupt city as a masked maniac slaughters young gay men and drains them of blood.

Below Wayne Gonsalves who plays Dwayne in Death Drop Gorgeous tells us about his favourite horror film:

“My favorite movie EVER is actually Black Christmas 1974. I know it’s the typical “psycho gets out of an institution” but it’s sorta where the “calls are coming from the house” movie originated, prompting so many iconic slasher films in its wake. The set, the lighting, the killer’s POV, the use of corners in some of the shots to hide the killer from the characters.

But most importantly, Olivia Hussey’s range of emotions finding out the big twist in the ending. She goes from disbelief, to shock to fear to panic, all in one shot.”

DEATH DROP GORGEOUS is out on Digital by Dark Star Pictures now.
