Abertoir without a doubt saved the best for last with an unforgettable line-up set for the weekend. Scary Saturday began with a real indie gem from Canada, The Unseen.
It wouldn’t be Abertoir without paying tribute to one of horror cinema’s most beloved actors, Vincent Price. He is the official patron saint of Abertoir which was confirmed by his daughter Victoria, last year’s guest of honor.
Wales’s number one Horror festival returned for its eleventh consecutive year from the 15th-20th November 2016 at the Aberystwyth Arts Centre. This year the festival programmers took us on a trip down 42nd Street memory lane, treating us to plenty of seedy shockers, fiendish frights and the latest and greatest from recent horror cinema.
On the third day festival goers caught up with the first part of Danger 5 Season Two then attended a talk on Contemporary British Horror Cinema with academic Johnny Walker from Northumbria University.
The second day began with a screening of the classic 1960’s Hammer/Christopher Lee film Rasputin The Mad Monk.
