‘Evil Dead Burn’ Brings Deadites to Leicester Square
London’s Leicester Square descended into chaos as Deadites stalked unsuspecting horror fans to celebrate the arrival of Evil Dead Burn, transforming a routine cinema visit into an immersive encounter worthy of the franchise’s blood-soaked reputation. The special launch event brought the demonic creations of Sam Raimi’s iconic series into the heart of the capital just days before the latest instalment reaches UK and Irish cinemas.

Fans attending the advance screenings were met by terrifying Deadites roaming the venue, creating an appropriately unsettling atmosphere before audiences experienced the newest chapter in one of horror’s most enduring franchises. The evening also welcomed director and co-writer Sébastien Vanicek alongside stars Souheila Yacoub and Hunter Doohan, who joined cinemagoers for the celebrations at Leicester Square. A second screening later took place at the Odeon Luxe, with the trio also attending that event.
Arriving in cinemas on 9 July across the UK and Ireland, Evil Dead Burn continues the evolution of the series with a standalone story centred on grief, family and supernatural terror. Following the death of her husband, Alice seeks comfort with her late husband’s relatives at their isolated family home. Any hope of healing quickly disappears when members of the household begin transforming into Deadites, forcing Alice into what the official synopsis describes as a family reunion from hell.

Souheila Yacoub leads the cast as Alice, joined by Tandi Wright, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Erroll Shand, George Pullar, Maude Davey and Greta Van Den Brink. Vanicek directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Florent Bernard, while longtime franchise collaborators Rob Tapert and series creator Sam Raimi produce. Bruce Campbell, Lee Cronin, Romel Adam and Jose Canas serve as executive producers.
The film marks Vanicek’s second collaboration with Raimi after the filmmaker impressed the Evil Dead creator with his acclaimed debut feature Infested. Principal photography took place in New Zealand during 2025, with Philip Lozano serving as director of photography, while composers Double Danger reunited with Vanicek following their work on Infested to provide the film’s score.

Evil Dead Burn serves as the sixth film in the long-running series, following Evil Dead (2013) and Evil Dead Rise (2023). Although it tells a standalone story, it continues the franchise’s tradition of placing ordinary people in extraordinary battles against the Deadites, blending relentless horror with the outrageous excess that has defined the series for more than four decades.
The celebrations in Leicester Square offered fans an early taste of the mayhem before the wider public gets its chance to face the latest incarnation of the Book of the Dead. With another sequel, Evil Dead Wrath, already scheduled for 2028, the franchise shows little sign of slowing down.
Evil Dead Burn opens in UK and Irish cinemas on 9 July 2026.
