‘Fall 2: Deadpoint’ Takes the Franchise to Deadlier Heights
The first teaser trailer for Fall 2: Deadpoint has dropped (pun intended), offering audiences a glimpse at the next chapter in the survival thriller franchise that found unexpected success after the original film became a streaming sensation. Set for a theatrical release on 2 September 2026, the sequel swaps the dizzying heights of a deserted tower for the treacherous mountains of Thailand, where a new climb quickly turns into a desperate fight for survival.

Directed by Peter and Michael Spierig, the filmmaking duo behind Daybreakers, Jigsaw and Winchester, Fall 2: Deadpoint continues the story of Jax Hunter, portrayed by Harriet Slater. Still struggling with the loss of her sister Shiloh following the events of 2022’s Fall, Jax is persuaded to take part in a tribute organised by Shiloh’s friend Luce, played by Arsema Thomas.
What begins as a challenging expedition soon descends into catastrophe. According to the official synopsis, the pair travel to Thailand to tackle a perilous plank walk atop Mount Kwan. Their plans are shattered when a sudden rockslide leaves them stranded 3,000 feet above the ground with limited options for escape.

While the original film centred on two friends trapped at the top of a radio tower, the sequel appears to broaden the scale while retaining the fear-inducing vertical landscapes that helped define its predecessor.
Produced by James Harris, Mark Lane, Scott Mann, David Haring and Christian Mercuri, the film is based on characters created by Mann and Jonathan Frank, who also penned the screenplay. Mann directed the original Fall and remains heavily involved with the expanding franchise.
The success of the first film has played a significant role in the sequel’s development. Although Fall received a modest theatrical release in 2022, it found a much wider audience following its arrival on streaming platforms, particularly Netflix. Its resurgence prompted producers to move ahead not with one follow-up, but with plans for two additional instalments.

Development on the sequels was first confirmed in 2023, with producers revealing that the projects would be developed back-to-back. A third film is already in the works and is expected to bring together returning characters from across the series alongside new additions. Filming took place on location in Thailand and was completed during 2025.
For audiences who thought the first climb was terrifying enough, the latest footage suggests the descent may prove even worse. Check it out below!
