‘Signal One’ Brings Alien Chaos to Earth This June
A remote Caribbean island becomes the centre of a global crisis in Signal One, the upcoming science fiction thriller starring Isabelle Fuhrman, Dennis Quaid, Josh Hutcherson and David Thewlis.

Directed and written by Canadian filmmaker Jonathan Sobol, the film will arrive on Digital HD and DVD on 15 June through Signature Entertainment following its recent North American VOD release. Combining extraterrestrial mystery with technological paranoia, Signal One follows a rising computer scientist invited by a billionaire tech entrepreneur to investigate evidence suggesting alien matter has reached Earth.
What begins as a secretive research project soon escalates into chaos when the isolated team makes direct contact with something beyond human understanding. According to the official synopsis, humanity is left questioning whether the visitors “come in peace” as the situation spirals out of control.

The cast is led by Isabelle Fuhrman, best known for Orphan and Orphan: First Kill, alongside veteran actor Dennis Quaid, whose genre credits include The Day After Tomorrow and recent body horror hit The Substance. Joining them are The Hunger Games actor Josh Hutcherson and Harry Potter star David Thewlis, with Kiera Allen and Raoul Bhaneja also appearing.
Originally developed under the title Littlemouth, the production was first announced in 2022 before being retitled Signal One ahead of its wider release strategy in 2026. Distribution rights were later acquired by Radial Entertainment and Shout! Studios.
The film taps into familiar genre anxieties surrounding first contact, private technology firms and scientific ambition. Set largely within an isolated research facility, the story places its characters in increasingly volatile circumstances as communication with extraterrestrial life begins to fracture trust and destabilise the mission itself.

Fuhrman takes the lead role as Annika, the computer scientist drawn into the mysterious operation, while Quaid and Thewlis appear connected to the island’s powerful research programme. Hutcherson joins the increasingly crowded cast of contemporary sci-fi and horror performers following recent success with the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise.
The film arrives during a busy period for elevated genre releases leaning into paranoia, isolation and technological distrust (Disclosure Day will also be in cinemas this June), with Signal One positioning extraterrestrial contact not as discovery, but as the catalyst for social collapse.
Signal One releases on Digital HD and DVD in the UK on 15 June 2026.
