Indie Horror ‘Dead Bloom’ Takes Over Prime

Independent horror feature Dead Bloom has officially begun its distribution rollout after securing rights with Indie Rights, launching first on Amazon Prime as it looks to carve out a place within the genre’s socially conscious wing.

Dead Bloom 2026

The 2026 release, co-written and co-directed by Damien Paris and Domonic Paris,  produced by Domonic alongside Gina Gallo and Andrei Zakow, positions itself as an environmental horror story steeped in generational trauma and corporate malfeasance. Entirely independently financed, the film represents what its creators describe as a homegrown production driven by grassroots passion and a commitment to community storytelling.

Set against a backdrop of chemical contamination and rural neglect, Dead Bloom opens with a corporate cover-up. Two men tasked by their employer Tomsanco with disposing of a toxic compound known as XT-1 are silenced to ensure secrecy. The burial of both chemical and witness sets in motion a grotesque chain of events when one of the slain men re-emerges from his grave, altered by the substance meant to stay hidden.

Years later, Jacob and Odetta Mason attempt to scratch out a living on the same poisoned land, unaware of what lies beneath. Struggling with poverty and isolation, they discover fruit growing in seemingly barren soil. At first it appears miraculous, offering unexpected health benefits. The illusion unravels as the toxic origins of the harvest reveal themselves through decay, paranoia and escalating violence.

The horror compounds when a new family inherits the property. Jules Gaines, seven months pregnant, arrives with her husband and daughter, unaware of the land’s bloody history. The return of contaminated produce and buried secrets sets off a new cycle of transformation, culminating in a confrontation where survival carries a heavy cost.

The film stars Danny Fehsenfeld, Lilith Mesidor and Sadie Katz, and blends body horror with social commentary, drawing attention to environmental injustice and the disproportionate impact of corporate negligence on marginalised communities. The narrative interweaves parasitic flora, resurrection and familial collapse to frame contamination as both literal and metaphorical.

Damien Paris, a New York native known for his work in genre filmmaking and music, directs alongside Domonic Paris, whose producing and writing credits span decades across independent and animated features. Together, they anchor Dead Bloom in a tradition of independent horror that prioritises allegory as much as spectacle.

With its debut on Amazon Prime marking the first step in a broader distribution strategy, Dead Bloom enters the marketplace as an unapologetically political genre offering. For more information, visit the official site: deadbloommovie.com/
