Shudder Drops Dark March Slate with ‘Bodycam’ and ‘The Mortuary Assistant’

Shudder has confirmed its March 2026 programming slate for the UK and Ireland, with a mix of original premieres, returning series and catalogue additions set to roll out across the month on the AMC Networks-owned genre platform.

Leading the charge is Bodycam, a Shudder Original Film debuting exclusively on Shudder and AMC+ on Friday 13 March. The thriller follows two police officers responding to a domestic dispute that spirals into tragedy. Attempting to conceal their involvement to avoid public backlash, the pair soon discover that their body cameras are not the only devices recording their actions. The film positions surveillance culture at the heart of its tension, blending procedural drama with supernatural undertones.

A week later, on Friday 20 March, Shudder will premiere 1000 Women in Horror, a feature-length documentary charting the impact of female pioneers in genre cinema since 1895. The film explores the contributions of directors, performers and creatives who helped shape horror’s evolution, with interview subjects including Roxanne Benjamin, Akela Cooper, Mary Harron, Kier-La Janisse, Nikyatu Jusu, Roseanne Liang, Gigi Saul Guerrero, Kate Siegel and Jenn Wexler among others. The project arrives following festival play at Brooklyn Horror Film Festival in 2025.

Closing out the month’s original film premieres is The Mortuary Assistant, landing on Friday 27 March. Based on the bestselling video game created by Brian Clarke, the film stars Willa Holland as a newly qualified mortician who takes a solitary night shift at a funeral home. As embalming procedures give way to increasingly disturbing encounters, she uncovers ritualistic secrets tied to her employer, played by Paul Sparks.

On the series front, The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs returns with a new episode on Sunday 8 March, continuing its long-running celebration of cult cinema hosted by Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl.

Beyond its originals, Shudder is bolstering its library with a substantial selection of genre titles from 1 March. Highlights include documentary retrospective In Search of Darkness, cult shocker The Woman, Brazilian horror sequel Embodiment of Evil, seaside cult tale Messiah of Evil, video store throwback The Last Video Store, storm-set thriller A Mother’s Embrace, psychological drama The Severed Sun, hitman thriller Interstate, Japanese oddity Charisma, wilderness-set Bridge to Nowhere and festival-set stalker tale The Last Horror Film.

From 9 March, additional catalogue titles join the platform including slasher homage Fade to Black, fantasy adventure The Beastmaster and occult tech thriller Evilspeak.

With originals, documentaries and cult classics spanning decades of genre cinema, Shudder continues to position itself as a curated destination for horror and the supernatural in the UK and Ireland this spring.
