Frankenstein and Friends Join 19 Crimes for Halloween

The legends of classic horror are taking over the wine aisle this Halloween as 19 Crimes brings its rebellious energy to a new partnership with Universal Products and Experiences. For the first time in the UK, the brand has launched a limited-edition Universal Monsters wine collection featuring glow-in-the-dark bottles inspired by Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein and The Mummy.

The launch marks the arrival of some of Hollywood’s most enduring horror icons in an unexpected form, blending the macabre glamour of Universal’s golden age monsters with 19 Crimes’ reputation for bold storytelling. Available now at Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons, each bottle comes to life with an augmented reality experience – simply scan the code on the label to watch the monsters emerge from the shadows.

The range includes 19 Crimes Frankenstein Red Wine, a rich and indulgent blend with dark fruit and chocolate notes; 19 Crimes Bride of Frankenstein Chardonnay, a creamy, full-bodied white with subtle spice; and 19 Crimes The Mummy Red Wine, a Tesco-exclusive offering, described as dark, smooth and enticingly layered. Priced at £7.50 per bottle, the wines are available for a limited time in the UK, with releases also planned in Sweden and the Netherlands.

Chantal McDowell, International Marketing Manager for 19 Crimes, said the collaboration brings two worlds of rebellion together. The brand, which has built its identity around the renegade spirit of 18th-century convicts sent to Australia, now finds kindred spirits in Universal’s legendary outsiders – misunderstood creatures that have captivated audiences for nearly a century.

The collection’s creative design pays homage to the original cinematic monsters that defined horror during Hollywood’s golden era. Universal’s Frankenstein (1931) and its sequel Bride of Frankenstein (1935) transformed Gothic terror into a global phenomenon, while The Mummy (1932) introduced an ancient curse that continues to loom over pop culture. The trio’s legacy has endured through countless reimaginings, now extending into the realm of wine with 19 Crimes’ distinctive flair for theatrical storytelling.

Since its launch in 2012, 19 Crimes has become one of the UK’s fastest-growing wine brands, known for its interactive labels and rebellious themes. Ranked as the UK’s sixth most popular wine label, it continues to expand through bold partnerships that blur the line between heritage, art and innovation.

With its eerie new collection, 19 Crimes offers fans the perfect pour for a Halloween celebration – a meeting of the monstrous and the mischievous, with a little glow to light up the dark. Visit your local supermarket to give it a try.
