Abaddon’s Final Nightmare Arrives with ‘Hell House LLC Lineage’

The Hell House LLC saga steps out of found footage and into mainstream cinema this summer with the wide theatrical release of Hell House LLC Lineage on 20 August 2025. Iconic Events and Terror Films Releasing have partnered to bring this fifth and reportedly final chapter of Stephen Cognetti’s acclaimed horror franchise to screens across North America, including Regal, AMC, Cinemark and Alamo Drafthouse venues.

HELL HOUSE LLC LINEAGE

Hell House LLC Lineage follows documentary filmmaker Vanessa Shepard as she grapples with recurring visions decades after surviving a near-fatal incident at the cursed Abaddon Hotel. Settled in the town of Abaddon and haunted by nightmares, Shepard finds herself drawn into a web of grisly murders stretching back to the opening of Carmichael Manor. With each death echoing the hotel’s violent past, the link between the two sites and the string of brutal killings comes into sharp focus.

This installment abandons the found-footage conceit that defined the original trilogy and its prequel, Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor, in favour of a more traditional cinematic approach. Cognetti returns in writer-director capacity to deepen the mythology of Abaddon’s most infamous addresses. Series regular Elizabeth Vermilyea reprises her role as Vanessa Shepard following her character’s resurrection in Hell House LLC: Lake of Fire. Other familiar faces include the Carmichael siblings Patrick, Catherine and Margaret, along with Margot and Rebecca, whose fates were sealed in the manor film, and Searra Sawka as investigative journalist Alice Harper.

The theatrical rollout precedes an exclusive Shudder premiere in late October, offering horror fans two opportunities to experience this expanded vision. The move to cinemas represents a major milestone for the franchise, which began in 2015 as a low-budget found-footage curiosity before evolving into a cult phenomenon. Produced by Joe Bandelli for the first four films, Lineage marks a broader collaboration with Iconic Events and cements Hell House LLC as one of the most successful American horror series of the past decade. More importantly it has proved that found footage films can still be successful.

While the first three entries charted the misfortunes of tourists who ventured into the abandoned hotel attraction, Lineage reaches further back into Abaddon’s dark lineage. Audiences will witness the evolution of a town forever tainted by tragedy and the emergence of Vanessa Shepard as the key to unlocking its blood-soaked secrets.

HELL HOUSE LLC LINEAGE

With its blend of retro chills and a fresh cinematic style, Hell House LLC Lineage aims to satisfy long-time devotees and entice in some new fans. The film’s August theatrical release and subsequent streaming debut promise to close out Abaddon’s story with a final burst of terror, leaving audiences with a classic series to enjoy for years to come, and a fear of clown props to last a lifetime!
