Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Redux Redux’ Heads to Theatres with Saban Films Backing

Saban Films has secured the North American distribution rights to the sci-fi revenge thriller Redux Redux, written and directed by Kevin McManus and Matthew McManus. The film, which debuted in the Midnighter section at SXSW earlier this year, is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release later in 2025.

Redux Redux follows Irene Kelly, played by Michaela McManus, as she travels across parallel universes seeking revenge for her daughter’s death by repeatedly killing the murderer in each world. But as Irene becomes consumed by the hunt, her grip on her own humanity begins to fray.

The project features a cast that includes Jim Cummings, Jeremy Holm, Taylor Misiak, Grace Van Dien, and newcomer Stella Marcus. Produced by Mothership Motion Pictures, the film reunites the creative team behind indie titles Funeral Kings and 13 Cameras, including producers Michael J. McGarry, PJ McCabe, Nate Cormier and the McManus brothers themselves.

The deal for North American rights was brokered by Nate Bolotin and Pip Ngo for XYZ Films, with Jonathan Saba representing Saban Films.

In a joint statement, the McManus brothers expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, saying, “We couldn’t be happier to be working with Saban for the release of Mothership Motion Pictures’ first film. Jonathan and the team at Saban knocked us out with their enthusiasm and belief in the film. They want to give fans the best experience possible, and we’re thrilled audiences will have the opportunity to see Redux Redux on the big screen.”

Saban Films Co-Presidents Jonathan Saba and Shanan Becker described the McManus brothers as “unrelenting” filmmakers, adding, “Redux Redux is an unrelenting display of virtuosic filmmaking. The tone, the performances, the storytelling — all first class. These guys will be directing massive studio tentpoles in no time. We’re proud to welcome them to the Saban Films family.”

Other upcoming titles include the true-story exorcism thriller The Ritual starring Al Pacino and Dan Stevens, as well as Something Beautiful, a new visual album from Miley Cyrus.

Saban Films, part of Saban Capital Group, has built a reputation for acquiring and distributing high-profile genre titles across North America, with a catalogue of over 250 films. Its recent successes include Wrong Turn, City of Lies, and Fatman, along with eventised theatrical releases like Rob Zombie’s 3 From Hell and Kevin Smith’s Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.

The theatrical release date for Redux Redux will be announced later this year.
