Shudder Brings December Frights for a Festive Scream

This December, Shudder is delivering a month of compelling horrors and thrilling content for fans across the UK and Ireland. From sinister series finales to hauntingly atmospheric films, there’s something for everyone who dares to indulge in the genre.

Kicking off the month on 1 December is The Haunted Season: To Fire You Come At Last. This atmospheric period piece takes viewers to rural 17th-century England, where a group of men braves a superstition-laden journey to bury a coffin after dark. The film’s eerie folklore and unsettling visuals promise to captivate fans of gothic horror.

Also debuting on 1 December is Primeval, an intense creature feature following a news team in Burundi as they track a legendary 25-foot crocodile while dodging threats from a local warlord. The month continues with Lizzie and The White Reindeer on 2 December. Lizzie offers a psychological look at the infamous 1892 Borden family murders, while The White Reindeer, a Finnish classic, weaves folk horror with vampiric mythology as a newlywed is transformed by a shaman’s spell.

The highly anticipated finale of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Season 666 premieres on 3 December. This latest chapter raises the stakes with extreme challenges and A-list judges as drag superstars battle for the coveted crown and a $100,000 grand prize. Known for its bold creativity and physical intensity, this finale is set to be a spectacle.

On 9 December, Shudder introduces three chilling films: Medusa, a tale of repression and temptation with a biting feminist edge; Blood Oranges, a sultry thriller of erotic danger set in Italy; and Midnight, a relentless South Korean thriller about a deaf woman hunted by a sadistic serial killer.

The scares intensify on 15 December with four more releases. T-Blockers explores the invasion of ancient parasites in a small town, while Satranic Panic takes viewers on a vengeful journey through rural Australia to confront murderous cults. Carnage For Christmas blends holiday cheer with ghostly vengeance as a podcaster uncovers dark secrets in her hometown. Finally, Bad Girl Boogey offers a Halloween-inspired bloodbath centred on a cursed parasitic mask.

The month wraps up with the season finale of The Creep Tapes on 13 December, delving deeper into the twisted psyche of its secluded serial killer. Also on 13 December, Just Joe Bob allows fans of The Last Drive-In to binge commentary segments from the iconic horror host.

Closing out the month on 31 December, Horror’s Greatest returns for its second series. This deep dive into horror’s evolution features insights from genre experts, exploring iconic films, global influences, and subverting tropes.
