Visible Fictions to Debut New Interactive Production, Ghosthunter

Ghosthunter

Scottish production company Visible Fictions is set to premiere its latest show, Ghosthunter, at the Silver Cloud Studio in Glasgow from 30 May to 17 June 2023. The immersive production, designed for older teens and young adults, combines elements of theatre, escape rooms, and live horror, with the latest technology to create a unique and thrilling experience.

The show follows a team of paranormal researchers as they enter the abandoned home of Edward, who died under mysterious circumstances. Strange occurrences have been reported in the house, including unexplained noises, visitations, and even attacks by a terrifying presence. Audience members are invited to join the investigation, splitting off into groups to explore the recreated townhouse and solve clues to uncover the mystery behind Edward’s death.

Co-written by Visible Fictions’ Douglas Irvine and immersive events specialist Cameron Hall, Ghosthunter will be brought to life by a team of leading Scottish theatre talent, including design by Becky Minto, lighting and technology by Simon Wilkinson, and sound by Matt Padden.

Dougie Irvine, Artistic Director of Visible Fictions, said: “We are so excited to present this brave theatrical experience, made especially for upper teens. Immersive, interactive and chilling, Ghosthunter will be an unforgettable event. For Visible Fictions, fusing theatre arts, new technologies and gaming together has been a thrilling process, and we can’t wait to share it with audiences this summer.”

The 5000-square foot Silver Cloud Studio, run by Scottish Opera, will provide the perfect setting for the immersive production. Tickets will be available to book from 04 April at visiblefictions.co.uk, with an option for transport to and from the show.

Ghosthunter is the latest production from Visible Fictions, which previously produced the immersive show The Hidden, which toured Scotland in 2017 and performed at the Edinburgh International Festival in 2019 before having its Canadian premiere in Toronto last year.

The show will have press performances on 30 May at 1pm and 7.30pm, with a strict age recommendation of 16 and over. Tickets and further information are available on the Visible Fictions website.
