S-V/H/S Moves Fast Forward

S-V/H/S, the standalone sequel to the hugely popular, five film anthology V/H/S is now nearing a distribution deal.

This next instalment contains segments produced by directors Simon Barrett, Adam Wingard, Eduardo Sanchez and Gregg Hale, Jason Eisener, and Gareth Huw Evans and Timo Tjahjanto. This time around, the film is said to center on some private investigators who are searching for a missing person and stumble upon a stash of strange and misterious VHS tapes in an abandoned house.

The film recently played during the Sundance festival’s Midnight section and was said to have had a good reception.
The tales include:
A man whose digital, prosthetic eye allows him to see malignant ghosts; A cyclist that gets caught in a zombie outbreak; A documentary crew that gets caught in an apocalyptic cult ritual; and a group of teenagers that are abducted by aliens while their parents are away.

Let’s hope that it successfully builds on the strengths of the first film and doesn’t fall foul to its weaknesses.
