House of Hades Brings Fuel Girls Fire Spectacle to Shocktober Fest

Thirty years after opening with a single haunted house, Tulley’s Shocktober Fest is preparing to turn up the heat in a very literal sense. The West Sussex scare attraction has unveiled House of Hades, a major new live production featuring internationally renowned performance collective The Fuel Girls, as part of what organisers are promising will be one of the biggest anniversary seasons in the event’s history.

Created specifically for Shocktober Fest’s 30th year, House of Hades will combine fire performance, aerial artistry, dance, music and theatrical storytelling inside a dedicated venue at Tulleys Farm.

The Fuel Girls arrive with considerable large-scale Halloween experience, having previously appeared at Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights. For their West Sussex residency, however, the intention is not simply to transplant an existing show into the scream park.

Instead, House of Hades has been developed as a bespoke production designed around the atmosphere and theatrical scale of Shocktober Fest.

Flames, airborne performers and choreographed live action will form the backbone of the show, which will run repeatedly throughout the night and sits apart from the park’s traditional walkthrough attractions.

“Thirty years ago we opened one haunted house. This October, we are bringing performers who have appeared at Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights to West Sussex and creating one of the biggest live productions we have ever staged,” said Stuart Beare, owner of Tulleys Farm and founder of Shocktober Fest.

“House of Hades is huge. We wanted fire, aerial performance, dance, music and theatrical storytelling to collide in a way we simply haven’t attempted before.”

Beare added that the anniversary season has been designed to look forward as much as celebrate the event’s past.

“Our 30th anniversary isn’t just about looking back at what we have achieved over the last three decades. It is about showing people that we are still pushing ourselves, still taking risks and still finding new ways to surprise them.”

Shocktober Fest first opened at Tulleys Farm in 1996 and has since grown into what is billed as Europe’s largest scream park, welcoming more than two million visitors over its three-decade history.

The anniversary line-up is also bringing back The Cellar, with The Cellar Returns sending guests through tunnels, passageways and underground chambers beneath a newly reopened entrance.

Elsewhere, the award-winning Doom Town attraction is getting a new addition with Ross Records, a retro record shop created in collaboration with horror fan, writer, podcaster and Celebrity Gogglebox personality Honey Ross.

The haunted Greggs installation, which debuted inside Doom Town in 2025, will also return for a second year.

Those additions will sit alongside established attractions including Purgatory, Electrick Circus, Wastelands Penitentiary, Route 666 Haunted Hayride, Chop Shop, HELL-EMENTS, Creepy Cottage and The Village Coven of 13.

Live entertainment beyond House of Hades will include CarnEvil Cabaret, Wastelands Fire & Light Show, Poker’s 30th Birthday Party and Burleys Hoedown, alongside live bands, DJs and roaming street performers across the park.

Food, themed bars, fairground rides and adrenaline attractions will also return as part of the wider festival experience.

For an event that began with just one haunted house in the mid-1990s, the scale of the 2026 programme underlines just how far Shocktober Fest has expanded. House of Hades appears to be the clearest statement yet that its 30th anniversary is intended to be more than a retrospective celebration.
