‘The Fog’ Opens Grimmfest 2026 as Full Four-Day Schedule Goes Live
Grimmfest has put the final pieces of its 2026 puzzle into place, with the full screening schedule and individual film tickets now live for the Manchester genre festival. Running from 8 to 11 October at the ODEON Great Northern, this year’s edition stretches from John Carpenter and Adrienne Barbeau to heavy-metal carnage, Spanish-language horror, AI anxiety, folk nightmares and one still-secret closing-night surprise.

The festival opens on Thursday 8 October with Shorts Programme One at 4pm before Carpenter’s The Fog screens at 6pm. The screening will also see Barbeau receive the Grimmfest Lifetime Achievement Award and take part in a special Q&A. The evening continues with Evil Dress at 8.30pm, followed by two late screenings, Never After Dark at 10.25pm and Under Your Feet at 10.30pm.
Friday begins early with anthology Grind at 10.30am, moving into Cypriot folk horror Motherwitch at 12.25pm. Psychological thriller Reversion follows at 3.10pm, before Tyler Savage’s Oddities screens at 5.40pm. The evening then shifts into historical horror with Ithaqua at 8.10pm, while midnight-minded viewers can choose between Deathgasm 2: Goremageddon at 10.45pm and Sicko at 10.50pm.

Saturday opens with Shorts Programme Two at 10.20am. Disforia follows at 12.20pm, before Damien Fannon’s AI horror Ivan at 2.30pm. Taratoa Stappard’s Maori Gothic Marama screens at 4.40pm, with creature feature Crawlers taking over at 7.10pm.
From there, Grimmfest heads firmly into the night. The Glorious Dead screens at 9.30pm, followed by Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Alyssa Sutherland in The Room Below at 11.25pm and Steve Pink’s Terrestrial five minutes later at 11.30pm.

The final day begins with Shorts Programme Three at 10.20am, followed by Lucky Cerruti’s Boxcutter at 12.20pm. Víctor Català’s They Always Come at Night screens at 2.45pm, Quarxx’s The Ones Who Grieve at 4.45pm and Graham Guit’s Stronger Than the Devil at 7.20pm.
Grimmfest is still keeping one card hidden. A Surprise Film is scheduled for 9.15pm on Sunday, with details yet to be revealed. At almost the same time, Gustavo Hernández’s The Whisper screens at 9.20pm, bringing another of this year’s Spanish-language horror selections to the closing night.

Individual tickets are now available alongside day and weekend passes, and existing passholders can begin reserving their specific screenings. Grimmfest has also confirmed accommodation deals with Castlefield Hotel and CitySuites, while 2026 festival merchandise is already on sale.
