‘Easter Bloody Easter’ Unleashes Egg-citing Terror!

Easter Bloody Easter

Diane Foster makes her feature directorial debut with Easter Bloody Easter, a film that seamlessly blends horror, comedy, and mystery into a quirky egg-shaped package. Set for release this March, Foster, who also serves as the producer and lead actor, presents a unique holiday horror that’s hoping to become a new cult classic. The film draws comparisons to childhood favorites like Critters and is inspired by the legendary Rocky Horror Picture Show, carving its distinct path within the holiday horror genre.

Easter Bloody Easter tells the tale of a Texas housewife who embarks on a perilous journey to save her husband and their town from a bloodthirsty Jackalope initiating a murder spree during Easter. The film is set against the backdrop of Walburg, a small Texas town teeming with Easter festivities, which quickly turn into a scene of horror and chaos as the town is terrorised by demon bunnies led by the monstrous Jackalope. The film’s narrative is a thrilling ride, as our heroine teams up with unlikely allies to unveil the creature’s true identity and put an end to its reign of terror.

The film boasts of a largely female-identifying crew, earning it the ReFrame Stamp for gender parity in production. This project represents a major milestone for Foster’s WallyBird Productions and for the careers of several members of the creative team, marking it as their first or second feature film.

A standout aspect of Easter Bloody Easter promises to be that it’s a visual and auditory feast, featuring over 75 pieces of original music and 10 full songs, alongside the creatively horrifying demon bunnies designed by Jesse Velez of Raptor House FX. The film’s iconic monster, the Jackalope, is the brainchild of Diane Foster’s vision, brought to life by the talented team of Alexandra Bayless, Ashley Stansbury, and Lydia Morales. Sound design by the award-winning Paca Thomas adds another layer of immersion to this Easter horror comedy.
