‘Ready or Not 2: Here I Come’ Stars Light Up London Premiere

Searchlight Pictures rolled out the red carpet in London this week as Ready or Not 2: Here I Come made its UK debut with a special screening attended by cast and filmmakers ahead of its nationwide release. The event, held at Cineworld Leicester Square on 19 March, brought together key talent from the sequel, including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kathryn Newton and directing duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.

The screening drew a packed audience, with fans and industry guests gathering to see the next chapter in the horror-comedy franchise. Before the film began, the cast and directors took to the stage for an introduction hosted by broadcaster Yinka Bokinni, setting the tone for what has become one of the more anticipated genre releases of the spring.

The sequel continues the story of Grace, played once again by Samara Weaving, following the events of the 2019 original. Picking up in the aftermath of her violent escape from the Le Domas family, Grace is thrust into a new and even more dangerous game. This time, the stakes extend beyond a single household, as multiple powerful families pursue her in a deadly contest tied to control of a shadowy ruling council.

Kathryn Newton joins the series as Faith, Grace’s estranged sister, whose arrival introduces a new emotional dynamic to the high-stakes pursuit. The film positions the sisters at the centre of the action, with Grace forced to fight not only for her own survival but also to protect a family member she has long been separated from.

Sarah Michelle Gellar’s addition to the cast has added further recognition, with the actor taking on a key role within one of the rival factions. The supporting cast also includes Shawn Hatosy, Elijah Wood, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand and filmmaker David Cronenberg in an acting role.

Directors Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett return after helming the original, building on the mix of dark humour and violence that defined the first film. The screenplay is again written by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, maintaining continuity with the tone and mythology established in 2019.

The project originated from a separate concept involving sibling characters, which was later integrated into the Ready or Not universe, expanding its scope beyond the confines of the original mansion setting. Filming took place in Toronto in 2025, with production wrapping in early summer.

Following its recent premiere at SXSW, the London screening marks a key moment in the film’s international rollout. Early reactions have suggested the sequel broadens the scale of the story while retaining the sharp edge that made the original a standout hit.

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come opens in UK, Irish and US cinemas on 20 March 2026.
