‘Corporate Retreat’ Brings Brutal Satire to the Horror Workplace
A luxury corporate getaway descends into violence and paranoia in Corporate Retreat, the new horror-thriller from writer-director Aaron Fisher that blends survival horror with a pointed satire of modern workplace culture.

Fresh from a blood-soaked premiere event in Burbank hosted by Bloody Disgusting, the film has begun building early genre attention with its mix of office politics, brutal power struggles and dark comedy. Set at an isolated desert estate, Corporate Retreat follows a group of ambitious technology executives attending what is supposed to be an elite team-building weekend. Instead, the retreat spirals into chaos as attendees are forced into a ruthless survival game where corporate ambition quickly gives way to primal instinct.
The cast brings together a wide range of established film and television names, led by Succession star Alan Ruck alongside Rosanna Arquette, Odeya Rush, Ashton Sanders, Sasha Lane, Benjamin Norris, Elias Kacavas, Tyler Alvarez, Ellen Toland, Kirby Johnson and Zión Moreno.
The film uses its violent premise to examine the dehumanising effects of corporate culture, replacing workplace rivalries and leadership seminars with increasingly desperate attempts to survive. While the concept leans heavily into horror territory, Fisher has framed the project as a darkly comic critique of American business culture and the obsession with productivity, hierarchy and competition.

Fisher, whose previous feature Inside the Rain premiered at the Woodstock Film Festival before later landing on Showtime, co-wrote the screenplay with Kerri Lee Romeo. Passage Pictures’ Uri Singer serves as producer.
The project marks Fisher’s second feature as director following Inside the Rain, a drama that earned festival recognition and critical praise for its emotionally raw storytelling. A graduate of New York’s School of Visual Arts, Fisher previously worked across short films and streaming projects before moving into feature filmmaking. Co-writer Romeo also brings an eclectic creative background to the production, having worked in journalism, improv comedy, acting and theatre.

The film’s cast combines veteran performers with younger actors increasingly associated with contemporary genre cinema and prestige television. Alan Ruck remains widely recognised for his role in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and more recently for his Emmy-nominated work in HBO’s Succession, while Rosanna Arquette continues a screen career spanning more than four decades, including Desperately Seeking Susan and Martin Scorsese’s After Hours.
Odeya Rush, who previously appeared in Lady Bird, Goosebumps and Cha Cha Real Smooth, joins a younger cast contingent that also includes Moonlight actor Ashton Sanders and American Honey breakout Sasha Lane.
Following its Burbank premiere, the film is continuing its rollout through genre audiences ahead of a wider 2026 release.
