Exclusive Video Interviews: DW Medoff, Sara Sometti Michaels, and Jackie Earle Haley

Fans of game shows will be intrigued by Your Host, a gameshow-themed horror film which just received its UK premiere at FrightFest. The film notably stars Hollywood actor Jackie Earle Haley, in a role which he is already being widely praised for.

Haley received a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for his role in Little Children, and he also played Rorschach in Watchmen and Freddy Krueger in the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, in addition to appearing in films such as Shutter Island and Lincoln. In Your Host, he plays Barry Miller, a sadistic game show host who forces four young contestants to complete in a series of deadly life-or-death games, where the loser often finds themselves meeting a spectacularly violent end. The talented Haley plays the role of Miller with plenty of menace and charisma, making this a film which fans of the actor will absolutely need to track down.

Director DW Medoff also helmed I Will Never Leave You Alone, with Joey Miller providing the screenplay. And producer Sara Sometti Michaels is no stranger to the horror genre, as she previously worked on films such as St, Agatha, I’ll Be WatchingDegenerate, and The Run. Filming took place in Italy, and Your Host will be continuing its festival run as the year goes on.

At FrightFest, Medoff, Michaels, and Haley all granted me the following interviews about Your Host, and in addition to being three of the nicest people you could ever meet, they each provided unique and very interesting insights into their work on the film. Medoff and Michaels were interviewed together while Haley was interviewed separately, and you can find both of the very engrossing interviews embedded below. Although you will not want to be a contestant in the game featured in Your Host, you will still want to track down this very unique film when it eventually receives a general release.
