‘Malum’ and ‘Hunt Her Kill Her’ Unleash Terror Across UK Cinemas

This spring, UK audiences are in for a terrifying treat as Screenbound Pictures announces the theatrical release of two electrifying American indie horror films, Malum and Hunt Her Kill Her. Set to hit cinemas from the 26th of April, these films promise a relentless ride of suspense, terror, and survival, featuring fearless leading ladies battling their way through nightmarish scenarios.
Malum, a supernatural horror that has already earned over $200k in its limited opening weekend in the US, follows a rookie police officer’s harrowing night in a decommissioned police station. Trying to unravel the link between her father’s death and a malevolent cult, she faces a series of paranormal events that could lead her to the grim truth. British actress Jessica Sula (TV’s Skins, Split) delivers a captivating performance in this reimagined version of the 2014 feature Last Shift, where writers Anthony DiBlasi (also directing) and Scott Poiley take the horror to new heights.

In Hunt Her Kill Her, the tension mounts as a lone janitor finds herself fighting for survival on her first night shift, targeted by sinister masked intruders with dark intentions. The film showcases Natalie Terrazzino’s intense performance as Karen, the janitor forced into barbaric violence to stay alive through the night. Directed by Greg Swinson and Ryan Thiessen, this atmospheric thriller was hailed as “an intense thrill ride” by Film Threat after its screening at Frightfest Glasgow in March 2023.

Both films, acquired by Screenbound Pictures from US sales outfit Raven Banner, offer unique takes on the horror genre. Set in confined, claustrophobic settings, they let the blood flow freely while keeping audiences on the edge of their seats with inventive kills and suspenseful storytelling.
For those eager to experience the double dose of horror, special late-night double-feature presentations are scheduled at select Showcase Cinemas on the 26th of April at 10:30 PM. Following their theatrical release, both Malum and Hunt Her Kill Her are set for a digital and physical home-entertainment release on the 27th of May 2024.
