‘Normal’ Gets Collector’s Edition 4K Release With Ben Wheatley Extras
Bob Odenkirk trades Saul Goodman for a sheriff’s badge in Normal, Ben Wheatley’s offbeat action thriller about a seemingly sleepy town hiding a very lucrative secret. Following its cinema run, the film is now heading to digital on 19 October before arriving on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on 9 November through Vertigo Releasing and Visions Home Video.

Odenkirk stars as Ulysses, an interim sheriff sent to the town of Normal, Minnesota, where almost everyone appears to be keeping something from him. What begins as a relatively quiet posting soon explodes into violence when a botched bank robbery exposes the scale of the conspiracy beneath the town’s orderly surface.
The film is directed by Wheatley from a screenplay by John Wick writer Derek Kolstad, based on a story Kolstad developed with Odenkirk. The combination gives Normal a mix of crime thriller, black comedy and escalating action, with Odenkirk once again leaning into the physical side of his screen persona after Nobody.

The supporting cast includes Henry Winkler, Lena Headey, Jess McLeod, Ryan Allen, Billy MacLellan, Brendan Fletcher, Reena Jolly and Peter Shinkoda. Winkler plays the town’s mayor, while Headey appears as Moira, a local bartender who becomes part of Ulysses’ increasingly complicated introduction to Normal.
The film premiered in the Midnight Madness programme at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival before receiving a theatrical release in the US earlier this year.
Its home entertainment release will include a Collector’s Edition 4K UHD packed with additional material. Bonus features include alternate art O-ring packaging, four collectible art cards designed by Wheatley, a reversible poster, the A Town Called Normal making-of featurette, a director’s commentary and a London Q&A featuring Odenkirk and Wheatley.

The production was shot in Winnipeg after principal photography began in October 2024, with Harry Gregson-Williams and Ryder McNair composing the score. The project had originally been developed by Kolstad before his work with Odenkirk on Nobody, with the pair later returning to the material and expanding the story together. That collaboration ultimately resulted in a film that places a reluctant outsider inside an apparently prosperous town where the rules are already firmly established and everyone has a reason to keep them that way.
Normal will be released digitally on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, YouTube Movies, Rakuten and EE TV from 19 October 2026. The film will then be available to own on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD from 9 November. Pre-order yours here: amazon/B0iegM8Ob
