Colonel Herzog is back with a vengeance! Well, as much vengeance as a Nazi zombie can muster, which is apparently a lot. That’s right kiddies, Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead is headed your way!
Red vs. Dead is the much-anticipated sequel to 2009’s Norwegian splatter fest horror-comedy Dead Snow. And if you are one of the few horror buffs who haven’t seen the original, I highly recommend you get your hands on a copy right now. No, really. I can wait.
Anyway, according the official synopsis, Dead Snow 2 picks up immediately where the original left off at with gore-filled action and even more inventive ways to dismember and maim the characters. Tommy Wirkola — who also directed Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters — is once again taking the helm in Dead Snow 2 just as he did for the first film. Joining him for a second round of blood, tears and laughter is Vegar Hoel — who is reprising his roles as Martin — and Ørjan Gamst’s Colonel Herzog.
Some horror lovers who were lucky enough to view a screening of Dead Snow 2 earlier this year at the Stanley Film Festival are saying it surpasses the original. The rest of us, however, will have to wait until October 10th when the film opens in select theaters and is released on VOD.
