The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D Coming Soon

lions gate You read it right, that franchise that started so promisingly (and disturbingly) is now moving into the third dimension in an attempt to mess up our heads even more.

It seems like no classic horror film is worthy remembering unless someone has remixed it or remade it in 3D, and rumour has it, that The Texas Chainsaw Massacre train won’t stop here. Apparently the rights for six follow-up films have also been granted.

The release will be handled jointly by Nu Image and Lionsgate, the latter no doubt looking for another popular horror franchise to fill the gap (or gash) that Saw has left in its wake.
This latest episode in the Texas Chainsaw series looks to be a ‘new chapter derived from Tobe Hooper’s 1973 masterpiece’. Although if they’re hoping to match the level of terror that the original feature achieved, they’ll have a lot of work to do.
