Love Horror: Tell us about your film?
John Williams: The Slayers follows 2 cult members as they break ranks and decide to go on a adventure road trip to make the most of, what they believe to be, the last two weeks on earth. The two hapless men plan a bucket list and head off in an old motorhome to the mountains of scotland to camp, skydive, meet girls and drink. It isn’t long before Nigel and Job start to encounter strange characters who claim to be vampire slayers. Believing it to be a test from god, they follow the slayers in battle with vampires and the boys own stupidity.. How did you get into making horror movies?
Love Horror: What is your view on horror in 2016 and how would you change it?
John Williams: It’s refreshing to see more independent movies coming through, making a pleasant change from the normal Hollywood blockbuster . Although we have a great scene here in the uk, i would love to see more adventurous film making and subject and move on from the depressing realism of a lot of british films. I hope that my films will add a touch of bizarre to the film scene.
Love Horror: What is your favorite horror film and why?
John Williams: Difficult question and one that i have many answers to, but i would have to say The Omen. I fist saw the omen when i was about 11 and it had a lasting effect on me, mainly because of the subject matter of the anti-christ etc and the great performance from Gregory Peck.
Love Horror: If Hollywood came knocking and gave you anything you wanted what movie would you make and who would it star?
John Williams: My dream is to make a Werewolf movie using only practical effects, probably starring someone like Tom Hardy, or perhaps Keith Chegwin..i’m not choosy 🙂
