Fractured Thoughts from actor Karl Davies

Fractured is a brilliant British horror that blew our minds last year and has stayed with us since. Available on VOD very soon we have teamed up with the makers of the movie for a series of exclusive interviews offering an insight into the fantastic film.

Having won 10 awards to date including a record-breaking 6 at the British Horror Film Festival more importantly Fractured received the Love Horror award at the 2017 Unrestricted View Horror Film Festival.

Directed by award winning filmmaker Jamie Patterson and written by Christian J Hearn, from Brighton-based Jump Start Productions Fractured stars April Pearson, Karl Davies and Louisa Lytton and the movie follows Rebecca and Michael who decide to take a weekend getaway and drive into the isolated countryside. They arrive at their cottage unscathed, but Rebecca can’t help but feel like someone is watching.

Below Fractured star Karl Davies offers up their Fractured Thoughts for your enjoyment!

1. How did you get into making movies?
Karl Davies: I’ve been working as an actor since I was at college aged 17. Started with youth theatre groups, then working in television until my first movie in 2006. Although as always there’s a lot of ‘right place, right time’. Lots of luck is the honest answer.

2. Tell us about your involvement with Fractured?
Karl Davies: I’d worked with Jump Start, as an actor, on a film previously and had become good friends with everyone. It’s a family of creatives that I was fortunate enough to become a part of. When we were working with the script for Fractured I realised that I had plenty of contacts and ideas that I could bring to the table with regards to getting the film made. So, then Jump Start brought me in as a Producer as well as an actor. Think it’ll be one or the other from now on though! Turned out to be a lot of work!!

3. What scares you the most?
Karl Davies: Not working. It’s a tough industry and waiting for things to happen is terrifying. Lots of things are out of your control and that’s scary.

4. What is next for you?
Karl Davies: I’ve just finished filming on a HBO drama about the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. That will be due out around April next year, but they’ve got plenty of post-production to do on it, so who knows.

5. What is your most fractured thought?
Karl Davies: All dining tables are set incorrectly. Why do right handed people eat a bowl of rice with a fork in their right hand, but they swap it to their left when a knife is introduced? And I’m the ‘weird one’ for not swapping. Blows my mind.
