1. Tell us about your film?
Jason William Lee: Well it’s your typical feel good romp about a group of friends who venture to a cabin in the woods where they are somehow transformed into ravenous cannibals thirsting for death and mayhem. Making it was one of the best experiences of my life and I hope to make many more in the years to come.
2. How did you get into making horror movies?
Jason William Lee: Ever since I watched The Exorcist and The Evil Dead as a little kid I have loved horror. There is just something about the uniquely human experience of feeling fear and pleasure simultaneously. But it was also somewhat strategic for our first feature. We felt that horror offered the best chance to recoup our investors money, plus we could produce it for a reasonable budget without the need for big named actors. It also helps that horror fans come in all ages, shapes and sizes from all over the world and they are extremely loyal to the genre.
3. What film would you love to see screened at FrightFest and why?
Jason William Lee: Why The Exorcist and The Evil Dead of course! If they have any throwback screenings that is. And in 3D would be nice.
4. If you could create your own award to give at the FrightFest, what would it be and why?
Jason William Lee: Most thought provoking film. I love films that shock, frighten, disturb and entertain, but the ones that make me think about a deeper meaning in life are the ones I love the most.
5. If your life was made into a horror film, what would it be called and who would play the starring role?
Jason William Lee: “Title Card Over Black”. Daniel Day Lewis could be the only one with the acting chops to pull it off. 😉
