1. Tell us about your film?
Crystal Eyes is a Neo-Giallo (with colourful glimpses of 80’s Slashers, Soap Operas Divas and fake thunder and lightnings from old TV Movies) which occurs in a surrealist Buenos Aires from 1985 and it’s set in the glamourous and superficial Fashion World. An unstable and bad manner supreme supermodel named Alexis sets herself on fire while she was on drugs at the climatic ending of a fashion show. One year later, a vengeful and sinister Mannequin starts stalking and killing every member at the Fashion Magazine Attila, which was about to make a Special Edition to honour the first anniversary of Alexis’s death.
2. How did you get into making horror movies?
We were horror movies fans way before filming them. A friend of ours was given a home video camera and we decided to do a short film on a Saturday night. Without thinking too much we decided to do a horror movie, set in 1985, with musical scenes and full of horror and Pop culture references.
We didn’t want to stop after that!
3. What film would you love to see screened at FrightFest and why?
Oh, that’s a tough one. Watching “A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors” on the big screen, or “Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginnig”.
That would be our own private horror-fan dream.
4. If you could create your own award to give at the FrightFest, what would it be and why?
The Most Glamorous Filmmakers Awards goes to…
(Yes, we created an award to win it!)
Also: “Best Sassy Girlfriend of the Main female character who steals all the scenes she appears in and is remembered forever in our hearts”
5. If your life was made into a horror film, what would it be called and who would play the starring role?
“Elvira Presents: Slaves of Themselves, AKA “Making movies with almost no budget”. Jamie Lee Curtis (80’s look) would play Leandro, and Shelley Winters would do Ezequiel, narrated by Stevie Wayne, our Night Light from Antonio Bay.
