The Twentieth FrightFest is here so obviously our exclusive interview feature Five FrightFest Facts From… is back with a vengeance. Below we hear from Chad Archibald director of I’ll Take Your Dead and you can read more FrightFest Facts from 2019 and beyond by clicking HERE.

1. Tell us about your film?
I’ll Take Your Dead is a horror/thriller that follows a man (William) and his daughter (Gloria) who have been forced into a strange life of disposing of bodies for local gangs. They live in a secluded farmhouse and one day in the middle of winter, a body is dropped off that they soon discover isn’t dead. They are truly good people who would never kill someone so they bandage up the girl (Jackie) while they try to figure out what to do with her. Soon after they all begin to trust each other, the gang gets wind that Jackie is alive and return to finish¬ the job. William and Gloria have to decide if they will hand Jackie over to be killed or are willing to fight for their new friend.

2. How did you get into making horror movies?
One day, me and a friend decided to make a film with no experience or knowledge of filmmaking, we wrote a script and tried to make it in a week… it took 3 years. We made every mistake in the book and by the time we were done fixing it all, we had learned so much that we dove into another. Since then, I’ve directed 8 films and produced over 20.

3. What film would you love to see screened at FrightFest and why?
I have always wanted to see Starship Troopers with a rowdy film festival audience. I know it’s more of a Sci-Fi but that film is also full of horror, blood guts, and severed limbs. I love it and with the audiences that go to Frightfest, it would be such a fun watch.

4. If you could create your own award to give at the FrightFest, what would it be and why?
The Against All Odds Award for the film that achieved something truly awesome on a small budget. I love seeing films that are made with drive and passion over dollars.

5. If your life was made into a horror film, what would it be called and who would play the starring role?
“The Trenches” starring my look alike FRED DURST. Haha.
