1. Tell us about your film?
6 different people, happen to be friends, set off on a trip to Scotland to get away from their normal life. They don’t know each other’s ins and outs, so in the realms of trying their best to get along and have a good time a few things start to play up. Rainbow, the character I play is fairly open to these hiccups in their everyday life and is desperate to find the answer, saying that, so is everyone the more it unfolds.
2. How did you get into making horror movies?
I started off in Paul Hyett’s ‘Heretiks’. I absolutely loved that experience; horror gives you the freedom to go however far you are daring to go, imagine the most gruesome of things- which I love, along with the fun of blood and gore. Since ‘Heretiks’, I have kept both eyes wide open for more horror opportunities. I never thought I would say that! Because I am, in fact, still scared of the dark. When ‘Where the skin lies’ popped up I was incredible excited by the idea of these tattoos and the director behind it (Michael Boucherie). Michael and I worked on a short at Drama Centre together, during this shoot we talked a lot and he mentioned ‘Where the skin lies’. I loved the way he described these count down tattoos and couldn’t wait to read the script.
3. What film would you love to see screened at FrightFest and why?
When I was about 15 some friends and I made a 10 minute horror film, we took it really seriously and put rehearsal time, our friends and fake blood into it. We even had supporting artists! We were definitely meant to be working and doing mock GCSEs but instead we made this horror, set on an airplane. It was incredibly fun and I would love to see it at FrightFest because our 15 year old selves would have never expected it.
4. If you could create your own award to give at the FrightFest, what would it be and why?
Most fake blood used in a film! I love the stuff…
5. If your life was made into a horror film, what would it be called and who would play the starring role?
Hmmmm that is tricky! It would be called ‘Who’s afraid of…the dark’ because I whole heartedly am. I would love to see Amy Schumer as the starring role because I would like to see her in a horror giving the giggle.
