Five FrightFest Facts From Adam Graveley director of 3rd Night

1. Tell us about your film?
Adam Graveley: 3rd Night was inspired by real life events that happened out of upstate New York where a family was terrorised by an unknown Watcher who left creepy notes around the house for them to find. I took that idea and made a film about a newly wed couple who move into their dream home and are terrorised over the course of their first 3 nights by an unknown Watcher. The threats and violence builds to a bloody conclusion on the 3rd Night ?

2. How did you get into making horror movies?
Adam Graveley: I’ve always loved horror. I grew up watching Freddy and Jason and Michael and always wanted to make my own. When I moved to Australia from the UK I met Dan, my DP and co-producer and he showed me a friends property which had an apple orchard attached and surrounded by natural bushland – perfect for a creepy horror! The rest, as they say, is history.

3. What film would you love to see screened at FrightFest and why?
Adam Graveley: It would have to be one of the classics that I missed at the cinema when it was released because I wasn’t born! Dario Argento’s Suspiria in all of its technicolor madness would be epic on the IMAX screen!

4. If you could create your own award to give at the FrightFest, what would it be and why?
Adam Graveley: ‘It made me pee my pants’ Award with proof! That’s both terrifying and creepy on so many levels!

5. If your life was made into a horror film, what would it be called and who would play the starring role?
Adam Graveley: 3rd Night is so close to the bone that I have to say that! Dialogue, character, plot all of it came from me and my wife’s first few nights in our new home (the killer bit was added ?) so it feels very weird to see it up on the big screen but they say write what you know!

The World Premiere of 3rd Night takes place SATURDAY 26TH AUGUST and it also shows on MONDAY 28TH AUGUST. Get your tickets HERE and watch the trailer below:
