1. Tell us about your film?

Well Dark stories is a project I wanted to do in 2009 but I went on to direct several season of the Sci Fi show Metal Hurlant which was an anthology as well… so after I wanted to work on a more classic title where I could use all what I had learn during those shoots… and this was a project called The Cell that I did for France televisions, following the show good response I was asked if I would have an idea that could fit an Halloween event, and I saw this as a an opportunity to finally give life to that creature project that would feature scares, laughs, action and Monsters as well ! So after some rewrites and Development here comes « Dark Stories », hope you’ll enjoy it !

2. How did you get into making horror movies?

Well growing during the 80s with two more than 10year elder brothers … let’s say I’ve watched a lot of VHS, good stuff bad stuff… but at my young age this resulted in a whole bunch of Nightmares … and Adventures… so I really grown up with Imagination in mind, playing board games, role playing games, reading, watching, playing video games, a whole lot of stuff while I was already interested in filming and started editing jobs quite young… so I went from journalism to directing and of course so many monsters are roaming in my head that it’s quite important for me to try to bring some glimpse of that to the screen.

3. What film would you love to see screened at FrightFest and why?

Well I’d love to see peninsula… like right now… well you know like lot of people, you can see that I have a soft spot for zombies in my life… 🙂

And I really loved « Train to Busan » I thought it was amazing, and I would be really proud if one day I can come up with a project with that can reach at least 25% of the intensity and the emotion of what I think may be a new classic.

4. If you could create your own award to give at the FrightFest, what would it be and why?

Best Emotion rollercoaster… 🙂 being able to switch from horror to comedy then Drama then back to comedy is really something unique… and usually I see those moments having a strong impact on me as it’s somehow stay even more in me than ultra Gore… or action moments.

5. If your life was made into a horror film, what would it be called and who would play the starring role?

It’s already been made ! It’s called « It follows » and it does involves some past relationships 🙂 and honestly I would be fin with anyone but playing the part but me… or well maybe Jason Bateman would be a good pick for it…
