Trailer for Eli Roth’s Green Inferno

As reported last month, Eli Roth is currently working on a new horror film entitled Knock Knock that, it has recently been revealed, will star Keanu Reeves.

But you won’t have to wait until 2015 for other bloody thrills courtesy of mister Roth as the trailer for his next film has just hit Youtube.

The Green Inferno sounds as if it could be the title for yet another yawnsome superhero movie, but in fact, it’s comething quite diffrent.
The film follows a group of student activists who travel from New York City to the Amazon to save a dying tribe. Unfortunately though, they crash in the jungle and are taken hostage by the very natives they protected.
This shouldn’t be a bad thing, but it seems that the tribe certainly has an appetite for meat, as opposed to eating the berries and greens that the Amazon provides. And by when it comes to meat, we of course mean human meat, or to be more precise ‘student activist meat that just crash landed in a plane’.

It’s almost too obvious to mention, but The Green Lantern looks to bear more than an uncanny resemblance to the infamous 1980 film, Cannibal Holocaust. It’ll be interesting to see how far those similarities run.

Considering Mr Roth’s involvement though, one thing’s for sure – it’ll be a bloody, disturbing film for sure.

The Green Inferno will be released in US theaters on September 5th. UK dates are yet to be announced.
